Dr. Theodore G. Dalakos passed away unexpectedly at home on November 19, 2020. Born in Athens, Greece on March 3, 1935, to George Theodore Dalakos and Despina Foscolos Dalakos, Ted endured a difficult childhood under Nazi occupation forces during World War II and the subsequent civil war right after. After his internship in Patras, Greece, he went to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to do a residency in endocrinology. He then visited the United States and was offered a fellowship at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York under Dr. Streeten. He spent 7 years in clinical and research studies and then moved to private practice at the Physicians' Office Building of Community General Hospital where he worked until his retirement in 2005.
He met his wife of 50 years, Toni DeAngelo, while she was a graduate student at Syracuse University. They married on January 17, 1970 and welcomed their first son, George, followed by Anthony and then, Joanna.
